Obamas get a PWD...

Now that the G20 meet is over and Barack Obama and wife Michelle are back in Washington after their first international summit... I have an interesting story to tell.

The Obamas are getting a new pet in the White House. Yes! Bo, as it will be fondly called by Malia and Sasha (The First Daughters)... Bo, a Portuguese Water Dog, is a gift from Senator Edward M Kennedy for the little girls. Really, the Obama girls have got their Easter gift, I suppose... :-)

After months and months of anticipation, the 6-month-old puppy Bo, will call the White House home. Portuguese Water Dog (or PWD) are the kinds that are known for high spirits and a good fit for children with allergies... as published in the Washington Post.

As per reports, Bo will make an official appearance in the White House on Tuesday...

I congratulate the Obamas on getting their First Puppy... :-)

About PWD:
-- is a water spaniel breed of gun dog
-- In Portugal, the breed is called Cão d'Água (pronounced Kown-d'Ahgwa; literally "water dog"). In its native land, the dog is also known as the Portuguese Fishing Dog (Cão Pescador Português).
-- The closest relative of the PWD is widely thought to be the Standard Poodle. Like Poodles and several other water dog breeds, PWDs are highly intelligent, can have curly coats, have webbed toes for swimming, and do not shed .
-- This breed does not shed its hair. The hair is either wavy or curly. Many dogs have mixed pattern hair: curly all over the body but wavy on the tail and ears.

Am I Obamarized?

Yes! I am. I am completely Obamarized.

I agree that my previous post about Barack Obama's inauguration is less about Obama taking oath as US President and more about my own opinion about him.

I, personally, believe in the power of change. And Obama is the '
Man of Change'. He has the power, determination and motivation to change the world. I strongly feel that a leader is born the day he utters meaningful, powerful and elevating words. Obama's speeches have a touch of positivism and leads us to harmony and union.

We all feel the need to learn from words and I feel, as citizens of the world, we have a lot to learn from Barack Obama. My grandma, who is 86-year-old now, says that the words that we utter reflects the evanescence of our soul. Obama's words have brought him into power. His words made Americans and the whole world cry. His words are words of promise and words of peace.

I am Obamarized by Barack Obama's genuineness. I am Obamarized by his simplicity.

For those of you who don't know and don't understand, Obamarized, is an expression used for persons who are captivated or mesmerized by US President-elect Barack Obama.

The world is looking for change. Obama is the change that we need. Obama has shown signs of change by saying that "Anything is possible in America." But, I feel, anything is possible in this world.

Barack Obama inherits presidency amid global meltdown. I wish Obama on the eve of his oath-taking ceremony could say something more. I wish he could say that he'll only have a simple home-cooked meal for dinner and would save the millions of dollars being spent for his inaugural celebrations.

For me, he is the 'Man of Change'.. then why not to mark a change from Day 1? Barack, as a world leader and as the President-elect of the world's oldest and largest democracy, must refute all celebrations.

The 44th US President's inauguration theme is "A New Birth of Freedom"... If the world and Obama is talking about a new birth of freedom then why not free the world from suffering, misery, recession and terrorism?

Again, for those of you who don't know and don't understand, A New Birth Of Freedom, is a phrase from Gettysburg Address. Obama will be sworned-in as the US President just days before the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth.

Obama's inauguration will not only be a moment of historical significance but a world-changing moment. It will be a revolution in its own way. The world needs Obama to bring a revolution.

Yes! The leader has emerged. The leader is born. And the leader will be sworn-in as the King.

Yes! I am Obamarized.

Obama Inauguration

"I want to campaign the same way I govern, which is to respond directly and forcefully with the truth," ~ Barack Obama, 11/08/07

It's going to be a very different tomorrow. 20/01/2009. The world will see a new leader emerging from the shackels. A King who will rule the world with his exceptionally brilliant leader-like qualities. Barack Obama, an American of African descent, finally, will walk in the Oval Office on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.

As Obama steps in as the first African-American President of the United States of America, history will be written in bold letters and the political landscape will be re-mapped.

'Yes We Can'.

Yes! Change is what we are looking for. Isn't it? A proud and articulate Obama knows how to talk to people. He knows how to inspire people. He has changed the way the world view politicians and it will be the change for the better.

For me, Obama won't be a US President, but a Global President, a world leader. A leader who had the audacity to hope. A leader whose voice will be the 'voice of the voiceless'. For me, the US President-elect Barack Obama, is an icon. An icon of hope, an icon of change, and an icon of positivism.

I voted for Obama, not as an Indian, but as a Global Citizen. I voted for change.

As Barack Obama's inauguration approaches, I dedicate the following lines from Mariah Carey's Hero to the new world leader, a new President of America and the 'Man of Change'....

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you....

I hope Obama will be able to fulfil promises of hundreds of billions of people and be the leader of truth, a leader of hope and a leader of change. Yes! I feel totally Obamarized.

As he enters the Oval Office, leave a message for Barack Obama...
